The Frederickson Park Observation Deck was developed with generous contributions by a number of organizations and individuals. Sean Bridges, a scout with Troop 562, coordinated this project as part of his Eagle Scout Rank. The design for the deck was developed to provide access to the edge of the wetland pond at the southern edge of the park. The deck cantilevers beyond the edge of the water and the foundation was designed as a shallow “floating” foundation. The deck is designed as a barrier free facility and is connected to the pathway system via an accessible ramp. The treated wood was specified with a sustainable process and will not contaminate the wetland or wildlife in the pond.
