Martin Luther King Center

This renovation of the Martin Luther King Center was completed in 2004 for the Department of Parks and Recreation on the west side of South Bend.

The scope of improvements included a wide range of upgrades including new computer center and library, new commercial kitchen and senior’s center room, conference room remodeling, locker room upgrades, weight room expansion, office remodeling, accessible restroom upgrades and gymnasium refinishing.

In order to provide a bright and open interior, exterior windows were installed to increase the natural light. In order to increase security, interior windows were strategically placed to allow for interior sight lines from the office and hallways to most every room in the building.
