Director of Historic Preservation
Eric is a native of Iowa and earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State's College of Design in May 2014. He went on to complete a Master's in Historic Preservation from the University of Notre Dame's School of Architecture in May 2017. Eric joined the Kil Architecture / Planning team in 2017 as a graduate architect and has been a Registered Architect since early 2020. His main area of interest lies in revitalizing historic buildings and has worked on a wide range of preservation projects during his time at the firm. In 2024, he was named Director of Historic Preservation at Kil Architecture.
Eric’s passion for historic architecture spills over into his free time where he volunteers with Indiana Landmarks and the non-profit South Bend TradeWorks, an organization working to “preserve the historic fabric” of local neighborhoods through salvage, restoration, and education. He also works as a handyman specializing in historic houses and has previously served on the Board of South Bend’s Historic Preservation Commission. An avid Cyclone fan, he frequently returns to his alma mater to support their football team.
